Clinical view on adverse drug reactions, pharmacovigilance in India and role of clinical pharmacist

An Adverse Drug Reaction (ADRs) is still a challenge in modern healthcare, increasing complication of therapeutics, an elderly populace and multimorbidity. Pharmacovigilance the science activities relating to detection, assessment, understanding prevention adverse effects or any other medicine/vaccine related problem. This article having objective evaluating pharmacist perception about ADRs monitoring through ample literature review. In India pharmacovigilance activity begins 1986 with ADR system under supervision drug controller general India. The prescribed National Program was commence 2005; unsuccessful attempt 1998, renamed as (PvPI) 2010. reactions has become essential part be executed together health-care services for safe use medicines. Pharmacist can play important role evaluation ADRs. – expert- abundant knowledge pharmacological action, pharmaco-therapeutics, reactions, disease pathophysiology, make therapy safer.
